Eastern Michigan University’s Student Center Room 300
Mara Keisling is the founding executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality. She is a fierce transgender rights advocate and has been on many news shows and quoted in newspapers such as the New York Times and the Washington Post. In honor of National Transgender Day of Remembrance, Mara will be here to discuss transgender rights issues, as well as tips to being an effective LGBTQA student leader. Mara blends her passion, activism, and humor in a manner that is engaging and inspiring. This is a great opportunity to hear from a prominent leader in the LGBT movement.
Immediately following will be a vigil in honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance, which is November 20.
