Anthony Steven Kalloniatis (ANT)

(August 22, 1967 - )

Anthony Steven Kalloniatis (ANT) is a native of Londonderry, New Hampshire and was born on August 22, 1967. He is an openly gay, Greek-American, Jewish stand-up comedian and actor. He says that his comedy routines come from his life experiences.

ANT’s career took off in 1995 when he became a semi-regular performer on the WB series Unhappily Ever After. He was a cast member on this series for four years. In 2001, ANT recruited several men to become internet models and he documented this business in the film WebCam Boys. ANT became better known after his appearance as a contestant on the television series, Last Comic Standing. Since then he has appeared on many television shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Steve Harvey’s Big Time and VH1’s Best Week Ever. In the summer of 2006 ANT had his own show, U.S. of ANT, on the Logo channel. He has recorded a comedy album and also a DVD titled, ANT: America’s Ready. Currently ANT is the host of the VH1 reality series, Celebrity Fit Club. He performed at the Gay Games Legacy Dinner in San Francisco on October 27th of this year and will be on Rosie O’Donnell’s R Family Cruise on March 15, 2008.

Frequently performing at comedy clubs and college campuses around the United States, ANT believes, as an out gay man, he is doing a great service to the LGBT community. “I’ve lost count of the people who have come up to me after shows who had never met a gay person. I’ve made them laugh and they think that’s cool. I believe they’ll be more comfortable with the next gay person they meet.”
